Take Charge of Your Future!

In collaboration with the graduate and undergraduate offices, the OECD provides one-on-one career advising, multiple online tools, an alumni mentorship program, departmental career days, mentorship to student organizations and projects, and digital publications. An undergraduate Certificate in Music Entrepreneurship (15 credits) is offered by the OECD in partnership with the Kelley School of Business.

CAREER ADVISING

Meet one-on-one with a career advisor to identify and locate information about specific music careers, prepare and optimize your resume and professional cover letter(s), and plan your career path. Appointments can be made through the Career Portal, or in person at Jumpstart Central (MU011) in Merrill Hall.

Greg Ward

November entrepreneur of the month: Greg Ward

Recently, Project Jumpstart had the opportunity to ask recently-appointed IU professor Greg Ward, a cutting-edge saxophonist, composer, and producer, some questions about his advice for young jazz musicians entering the professional field, what he wishes he'd started doing earlier, and how he avoids burnout despite an intense performing and teaching schedule. Read the full interview!
